We produce advanced performance materials used in barrier coatings for medical personal protective equipment, among other applications.

Our fluorinated oils and greases enable safety, efficiency, and reliability in cars, planes, and advanced electronics such as semiconductors.

Our site is certified under the American Chemical Council’s Responsible Care Management System, the national performance improvement initiative to ensure the prioritization of health, safety, security, and the environment.

Hosting local council members

We recently hosted the Salem County Economic Development Advisory Council for an overview and tour of our site, which has a long history in Salem County.

“It was enlightening to know more about what Chemours produces and exciting to see your possible future,” said Salem County Economic Development Director Frederick Young.

Engaging with our community

Our Chambers Works site recently relaunched our Community Advisory Panel, comprised of voices representing many organizations and neighborhoods throughout Salem County. The panel will meet several times throughout the year.

"We share updates from our site, and in return, the CAP members provide us with input on any community concerns or interests," said Plant Manager Troy Blanchard. "The panel is a valuable channel for receiving community feedback."

Participating in DRBA Family Day

Site volunteers provided visitors to the Delaware River Bay Authority Family Day event with an opportunity to learn about how we responsibly manufacture products that are critical to our everyday lives. The team also discussed the site’s certified Wildlife Habitat Area.

Our investment in education

Chambers Works has been a partner of Salem County schools for over 33 years, including employees serving as mentors, judges in science fairs, and going to science classes to speak to students. Additionally, we sponsor and provide grant funding to local 5th grade STEM projects and science fairs.

Women’s Network off-site events

We recently held a team building event for the site’s Women’s Network employee resource group. The event was held at a woman-owned winery that has been open for more than 20 years and won multiple awards in New Jersey.

The owner’s key advice for attendees was to remove “I can’t” from their vocabulary, trusting their capabilities and growing into their roles at the site. Her son Matt, an Army veteran, is part owner of the winery. His advice to the Chambers Works team—especially the people leaders—was to take care of employees and check for their input regularly.

Bring Your Kids to Work Day

We hosted a Bring Your Kids to Work Day earlier this year, featuring many STEM activities that kept the kids engaged and intrigued all day long.

45 children between 6 – 16 years old participated in an array of activities that included an egg drop engineering exercise from the top of a fire truck, looking at pond water samples through a microscope, a bald eagle nest viewing and baby eagle naming contest, a tour of the Viton™ production area, a make-your-own-ice-cream using science exercise, and hands-on fire extinguisher demonstrations.

When the day was complete, they not only had a closer view of what their parents do every day, but also a greater appreciation for STEM.

Our employees are proud stewards of the environment, working onsite at our Gold Certified Wildlife Habitat and on community science projects, native plant gardening, nest box monitoring and habitat enhancements. We have also partnered with nature-based organizations on critical conservation efforts, including:

In 2022, we switched from coal to gas to natural gas for steam generation at our facility.

Sustainability is at the heart of our manufacturing operation, and we’ve implemented industry-leading emissions controls to protect our shared environment. This includes the installation of abatement equipment in manufacturing areas and a wastewater treatment plant.
